We are excited to offer a new program to the community.  The upcoming CITY DISPATCH test preparation program will guide participants through the application process for the City and County of San Francisco's 8238-- Public Safety Communications Dispatcher position, Oakland's Fire Dispatch Trainee, and other local Emergency Dispatch hiring opportunities. Course meets for 3 consecutive weeks Monday - Thursday evenings 5pm - 8:30pm. Participants receive one year of case management assistance to assist them with the often long and daunting hiring process for these positions. All course materials are provided through the program.  We are currently accepting applications for our next cohort scheduled to begin Monday, December 2nd .

Requirements:

1) Must be over the age of 18 years old
2)Must have at minimal two years of working experience with people contact
3) Submit a typing test certificate with a minimum of 35 WPM (Click here: typingtest.com )
3)Must be able to pass the background check (no felonies)

FIRST STEP TO APPLY 

1.  All applications MUST include a typing exam certificate with a minimum of 35 words per minute and a current resume.  Take the five-minute typing exam on typingtest.com.  When you complete the typing test you will download the completion certificate. Save it to submit with your application.

SECOND STEP TO APPLY  

1.  This is an online application that includes two required documents that you should have ready to download while completing the

This website www.typing.com has a good section to practice typing.  "Skill Builder" is the best section to practice writing paragraphs and using 10 key. 

Typing 35 words per minute is a requirement for acceptance into the City Dispatch Program.  There are two recommended free typing practice websites, to assist you in building this skill set. 

This website www.typingtest.com offers free typing practice where you can continue to build your speed.
