COMMUNITY BLS COURSES
Our Basic Life Support BLS certification course is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to respond to life-threatening emergencies. The course includes video-based instruction and interactive learning that will prepare you to handle cardiac and respiratory emergencies in adults, children, and infants. The course is offered FREE to community members. Pre-registration is required, and registration for each session will open one month prior to the class date to ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to sign up and confirm their attendance. 1. How long is the CPR/BLS certificate valid?It has a validity of 2 years.
2. Is CPR the same as BLS?No, CPR is not the same as BLS. BLS or Basic Life Support includes CPR training. It is a lifesaving skill and medical care administered by first responders, qualified bystanders, public safety professionals, and paramedics. Whereas CPR is a lifesaving technique that mimics regular heartbeats for patients with chest compressions until the advance help arrives. First responders use it when they encounter a patient drowning, choking, having a sudden cardiac arrest, or gasping for breath.
