City EMT is a sub-division of Dustys' Fishing Well (DFW), a non-profit organization committed to uplifting youth from disadvantaged neighborhoods in the San Francisco Bay Area with educational enrichment programs.    The DFW family recognized the needs of the community were far reaching beyond the teenagers, they saw the Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) were suffering from exposure, guidance, and entry level education  to career pathway opportunities.  We took our thoughts to the drawing board, expanded our scope, and created CIty EMT. 

City EMT is a career training and life skills program offered in San Francisco to young adults 18-24 years old.  It follows the vision of the founder and her mother Dusty Harris (RIP) , whom the organization is affectionately named after. 

Our Team

Attica Bowden
Founder/Executive Director

A San Francisco native, born and raised in the Fillmore, Western Addition neighborhood.  After 25 years working with the San Francisco Fire Department, she retired from her position as Chief, Assistant Fire Marshal in the Fire Prevention Division. She lives in the East Bay with two of her children. There is no greater joy for her than the ability to give youth from the community that raised her exposure to the career path opportunities in Allied Health Care.​

Antione Davis
Advisor/Mentor Liaison

Mr. Davis is a Bay Area native, a  Lieutenant with the San Francisco Fire Department and received his Bachelor's of Arts in Legal Studies from University of California Berkeley.  He is an alum of EMS Corps, the Alameda County Career Pathways in Emergency Medical Services Program that City EMT is modeled from.  There is endless energy in his commitment to the City EMT team in bringing its vision and program goals to fruition.

Kristine Roach-Hyson

Kristine is a native of San Francisco, born and raised in the Bayview district.  She is a mother of two. The passion she has shown and continues to show for City EMT is valued and evident in the passion she has committed to the success of the students and the program.

Rick Segura​
Lead Instructor

Ricardo "Rick" Segura was born and raised in San Francisco. He began his career in EMS and education in 2002.  Rick has held the position of Program Director for several Bay Area EMT Programs.  He worked on the ambulance for various private agencies across the Bay Area as an EMT.  Most recently Rick became an Acting EMS Training Lieutenant with the San Francisco Fire Department, successfully completed and passed all schooling and tests to become a paramedic, and was awarded the 2022 EMS Educator of the year award through the California EMS Association.  Rick loves his family, working on the ambulance, teaching and being with his students.  His motto is, "it's not the destination it's the journey".
